The Vietnam veterans never received the type of homecoming celebration that today’s troops receive as they return from service. To honor those who served and the military members who returned from combat, the USO of North Carolina is holding a long, overdue homecoming celebration on Saturday, March 31 at 9 AM at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The  time commitment for that day would be from 7 AM – 4:30 PM.
The schedule is as follows:
7:15 AM Meetup at Burger King (260 Hwy. 29 S., Concord, NC)
7:30 AM Roll out to Charlotte Motor Speedway
8:00 AM Set up cars
9:00 AM Ceremonies begin
4:00 PM End of Celebration

At the Speedway, I will have the cars roped off. I will also have a banner that reads “Welcome home! Thank you for your service.” There is talk of some local car magazines coming to cover our participation in this event.

I will also be making photo posters (approx. 24″ 36″) to hang under your hood. If you have a high quality photo or a collage of photos of a family member or close friend who is a Vietnam Veteran, email it to me and I will blow it up. Again, the resolution will need to be high for the print to look sharp. You can email it to me at vroom@yellowswarm.org. Limit 1 per car.
